How to get here | |||
Inverness is a well connected city, making it easy to take the car or a plane, train or bus for a memorable fishing trip. And once you are here, there’s lots of bed and breakfast accommodation, hotels and restaurants to cater for all your needs and welcoming pubs where you can savour Highland malt whiskies and recall your catch of the day. If you are taking the car, the main routes into the Highlands are the A9 from Scotland’s central belt, the A82 from the south-west (Loch Lomond and Argyll) and the A96 from the north-east (Aberdeen). From London Gatwick Airport, Flybe offers three flights a day each way and easyJet one flight a day. easyJet also flies once a day from London Luton and Bristol while Flybe operates services from Belfast, Birmingham (from March 2008) and, from May 2008, Exeter, Manchester and Southampton. Aer Arann flies from Dublin, Eastern Airways from Birmingham and Manchester, and Ryanair from Liverpool and East Midlands. Flights are also available through British Airways from Glasgow and Edinburgh. See Highlands and Islands Airports on the links page for a full timetable. Daily and overnight train services operate direct to Inverness from London while buses run to the Highland Capital via Glasgow and Edinburgh.
